Curriculum Vitae

Education
  • Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering, University of California, Davis, CA, September 2007
  • Master of Science in Civil Engineering, University of Houston, Houston, TX, June 2003
  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Jadavpur University, Calcutta, India, June 1997

Research Interests

Primary research interests are in assessment and mitigation of risks – stochastic simulation, performance evaluation, performance monitoring – in civil engineering constructed facilities. Current work is on:
  • General purpose framework for probabilistic simulation in geotechnical engineering: Probabilistic elasto-plasticity and stochastic finite elements
  • Uncertainty characterization and quantification in geotechnical engineering: Probabilistic site characterization, Stochastic simulation of ground motions
